Please join us for the first webinar in a series organized by the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA).
On Wednesday, October 28, at 13:00 (1:00 pm) London time, Paul Newton of Ofqual will present on the following topic:
Validity: The Big Picture
In this presentation, Paul will attempt to explain the two major threats to validity—construct underrepresentation and construct-irrelevant variance—in terms that your grandmother could understand. He’ll introduce a metaphor, the signal processing metaphor, which helps us to understand how educational assessments are supposed to work; and, more importantly, how they can go wrong. This will provide a “big picture” perspective on threats to validity (which he’ll illustrate with some big pictures).
The presentation will take place via Zoom. Members will receive a meeting invitation with the link. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Pitoniak at email@example.com. Please feel free to forward this email to your colleagues. We hope you can attend this presentation, and look forward to seeing you.
